Power Profile: Rock N' Roll Porpoise Man!

Real Name: Rocky Avalon
Age: 21
Occupation:  singer guitarist, college student
Origin: Rocky Avalon was just a slacker punk, jammin' by the beach with his swinging combo and avoiding his college classes, until he began boinking the daughter of noted mad Fishologist Professor Zachary Arkoff (who was also secretly the masked pirate known as the Sea Skull). The rock n' roll hating Arkoff was attempting to create a race of subservient fish-men to help him destroy the music he despised and take over the world! He sent one of these mutants to kidnap Rocky so he could experiment on him, and keep him away from his daughter at the same time. The mutant brought Rocky to Arkoff's nefarious skull shaped submarine hideout/laboratory known as the "Skullmarine." There, the mad genius  transformed the confused young man into the first ever human-porpoise hybrid. It had been an attempt to create a more intelligent fishapoid slave. But Arkoff was unable to control his new creation. Rocky's  porpoise intellect, combined with his rebelliousness, and innate  love for obnoxious music, won out. He escaped the Skullmarine and went back to playing with his band, who didn't seem to care that he was now a blue mutant guy. Neither did Crystal, (much to the consternation of Arkoff) Now, whenever the Sea Skull tries to poop the party, he has to deal with Rock N' Roll Porpoise Man! The ultimate hero of the beach!
Powers, abilities and weaponry: Rock has super intelligence, above average strength, can sing well
and plays a custom made"Six String Ray" laser guitar that can fire "power chords" with actual power.
Weaknesses: He needs to stay moist, and has to constantly drink beer, so his super intelligence doesn't get the best of him.
Favorite type of tuna: the kind with the mermaid on it.
 Favorite Golden Girl: Blanche

  1. I love this! The storyline is so much fun, it has a bit of everything. I love the personality you have created with Rocky. I am also loving his Six String Laser. I also really hope that everyone has a favorite Golden Girl. I am off to read more and get caught up! (p.s. since you are a music person and all, do you have songs in your mind when thinking about Rocky and the band?)

  2. I would love to record a Porpoise Man album-I think I mentioned to you on your blog that I have a band that I write the songs for and sing, but we are rarely active anymore because our drummer left the state and we didn't have a base player for a while-we are regrouping though, with a new line up, so I would love to do either a novelty record of Porpoise Man songs with the band or solo-ish. I am planning on recording a solo record of my songs , which my guitar player is going to produce, and doing a Porpoise album like that might be funny too, with just me and the producer putting it together. Either way, I loved those old sixties novelty records like the Monster Mash and those cartoon based records from the era-I'd dig doing a Porpoise Man album of all really cheesy sea based songs..though the Aquabats-who are a real band-have beat me to that concept-maybe there could be an Aquabats vs. Rock n' Roll Porpoise Man album!
But if I did record a Porpoise thing, I would want to get a guitarist who could play some Ventures style surf rock! That would be perfect played on a six-string ray!

  3. Actually, to amend my last comment, I think Rock himself would just be playing power chords (cuz he has the flipper hands) but that is a reference to Link Ray, a great surf guitarist who invented the power chord more or less-but Rocks lead guitarist in his band could do some mean Ventures style riffs to accompany him.

    1. OK, when you get this together with your music, you have got to let me know. I would love to hear it. I love those Monster Mash type songs from the 60s. The 60s was really such a great time in music. I also noticed you have a profile on the six-string ray, so I am gonna go catch up, because I am starting to get the hang with remembering characters and stuff.
